- Start with pure, high-quality mineral water, purified tap water, or spring water. The water should be brought to a boil initially and then cooled to 85-90°C. Pour this hot water into a glass or porcelain teacup and allow it to cool briefly.
- Place 5-6 grams (approximately one small tea scoop) of Rizhao Green Tea in the cup. Slowly immerse the tea leaves into the water until they settle at the bottom. Alternatively, you can use the “middle-infusion” method, which involves adding half a cup of water to the tea before pouring more.
- Wait for 5-8 seconds before pouring off 70% of the water while leaving the tea leaves in the cup. Then, top up the cup with 90°C boiling water. As the tea leaves gently unfurl, you can begin to savor your cup of Rizhao Green Tea.
Note: Due to the tender and green tea buds, using water above 90°C can risk overcooking the tea leaves and affect the tea’s color, aroma, and flavor. Transparent glass or porcelain cups are recommended, and it’s better not to cover the teapot during brewing to avoid “steaming” the tea leaves.
